Jalandhar Cantt MLA and Congress leader Pargat Singh has reacted to former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder's remarks that he is missing Congress party. Pargat Singh also claimed that whosoever leaders have joined the BJP from other political parties are not happy as they are not given importance.
Pargat Singh also stated that Captain Amarinder should have thought about this before decided to join the BJP as the party has always worked against Punjab.
'It is a good thing. If you have remained with a party for such a long time it is natural that you miss that party. BJP can never work for the betterment of Punjab. It always works against Punjab. Captain Saab is now realising this after a long time. He should have thought before joining the BJP. I dont think the BJP has given importance to leaders of Congress or other parties who have joined them. Whatever decisions BJP takes, it is always anti-Punjab," said Pargat Singh.
For the unversed, in an interview with a news portal, Amarinder Singh said that Congress had wronged him in several ways, and this is why he parted ways with the party. However, the former Punjab CM admitted that he still 'misses Congress' to some extent.
He also outlined that he rarely gets to meet with BJP's High Command, adding that the party works with 'strict internal rules'. Captain expressed that even for upcoming 2027 Punjab Elections, noone from the BJP has asked him about who should fight polls from where.
