COVID-recovered Ludhiana DSP Harjinder Singh’s family visits Punjab CM

The lungs of the DSP have been affected by COVID, and the treatment requires Rs 80 lakh.

The family of Ludhiana DSP Harjinder Singh visited the state Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to request financial assistance for the officer’s treatment.

The DSP had tested positive for Covid-19 on April 6th this year and was admitted to SPS Hospital, Ludhiana for treatment. On 22 April, he had reported negative for the contagious infection, however, his lungs have been affected the most.

Yesterday (June 1, 2021), his video requesting to “Kindly allocate the ex-gratia, which would be given to my family after my demise, so my life could be saved,” went viral on the internet.

It is pertinent to add that the estimate for his treatment is Rs 80 lakh. His letter to the CM claimed, “My doctors have said that I will have to go for the lungs transplant and they have told me to arrange funds for the same.”

Also, DSP Harjinder Singh, Central Jail, Ludhiana has also written in his letter that Ludhiana Police Administration and hospital management is also extending support towards me in his tough times.

Moreover, Ludhiana CP has forwarded the DSP’s letter to the DGP Dinkar Gupta mentioning victim personnel’s needs and conditions.
