IPL 2021: RR's Ben Stokes ruled out of the league due to a broken finger

Already the team is facing the loss of fast-bowler Jofra Archer due to his hand injury

IPL IPL-2021 Indian-Premier-League

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 has started five days ago and on the fifth day itself, a piece of monotonous news has just sneaked in. According to the official reports, Rajasthan Royals' all-rounder Ben Stokes has been ruled out of the IPL 2021 after he has broken his finger.

During a match against Punjab Kings on April 12, Ben Stokes had reported an injury on his left hand's index finger while he was taking a tumbling catch to depart Chris Gayle from the match on the bowling of Riyan Parag.

The news, however, comes as a setback for RR, who are significantly working to push their place on the tables. Already the team is facing the loss of fast-bowler Jofra Archer due to his hand injury even he has started with a bit of light training. It is yet to be ascertained when Archer would fully resume his playing in the IPL 2021.

As of now, it is being said that Stokes will stay in the group in India "to provide his valued support and inputs off the field."

In Rajasthan Royals team, David Miller and Liam Livingstone are the backup overseas batsmen. The franchise is already reviewing potential candidates to replace Stokes.

RR, who faced defeat in the season-opening match against Punjab Kings, will next be seen playing against Delhi Capitals on April 15.
