In the ninth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 on April 17th, SunRisers Hyderabad lost their first three matches including today's defeat against Mumbai Indians at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. MI defended 150 scores as they confined SRH to just 137 runs in 19.4 overs with all-out.

Seems like, Chennai is not the happening place for SRH as they lost their three matches of the season here. Notably, this venue brought SRH's sixth defeat at this venue.

The winning crown of today's match goes to MI Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult who took 1 and 3 wickets respectively with their brilliant bowling performances. Spirits of MI further heightened in the middle over when Rahul Chahar took the ball in his hands and picked 3 wickets for 19 runs.

On the flip side, SRH captain David Warner gave a strong initial push to the game with Jonny Bairstow sharing a run-stand of 67 in just 7.2 overs.

However, Bairstow's wicket was taken by Krunal Pandya followed by Warner's on the fielding of Hardik Pandya.

From this, SRH saw a sudden dip in its performance and the MI had premium bowlers in the middle overs. The deadly bowling of Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah did not allow players to move the scoreboard and restricted them to the maximum of 22 runs in total. However, SRH Vijay Shankar tried to play the lone battle as he made 28 runs on 25 balls, which could not pull off the victory for the team.

In the last five overs, SRH required only 30 runs but they strtuggled to get 17 runs on 28 deliveries as batsmen faced death-overs of Boult and Bumrah.
