The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), which is opposing Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan's bail in the drugs-on-cruise case, has claimed in a statement to the Bombay High Court that the superstar's manager "appeared to have influenced" a witness.

The NCB further stated in its written response to the High Court that given Aryan Khan's "influential position," he may try to tamper with the inquiry and derail it.

The anti-drugs agency stated that it required more time to investigate what it referred to as Aryan Khan's "international drug connection" as revealed in the probe. The NCB stated, "The same is being probed, and as per prescribed norms, adequate time is necessary to adequately expose this international drug nexus."

"Further, given Aryan Khan's powerful standing in society, it is quite likely that he may tamper with the evidence and influence other witnesses whom he personally knows," the agency told the High Court.

The written statement's contents were revealed just before Aryan Khan's bail hearing in the High Court, who has been held since October 8 on drug-related allegations. After NCB officials raided a party on a cruise ship on October 2, the star son was among 20 persons arrested.

The NCB referred to sensational allegations made by a witness, Prabhakar Sail, who claimed in an affidavit that Kiran Gosavi, the private investigator whose selfie with Aryan Khan went viral and raised questions, planned to demand Rs 25 crore from Shah Rukh Khan's manager Pooja Dadlani to settle the case. He claimed that 8 crore of this was intended for Sameer Wankhede, the NCB official in charge of the investigation.

The NCB claimed Prabhakar Sail's affidavit, submitted on Saturday, showed attempts to derail the inquiry were "clear."

The affidavit clearly lists one Pooja Dadlani as the applicant's manager (Aryan Khan). The anti-drugs agency wrote to the High Court, "It appears that the said lady appears to have influenced such panch witness while the investigation is ongoing, such interference at the stage of investigation is a malafide attempt to ensure that the same is derailed and the quest for truth is obstructed."

The NCB further stated that "despite the fact that the case is subjudice before the sessions court and this court," the document was not submitted in "any proceeding before any court.”
