Punjab Govt. withdrew former Jalandhar MP Sushil Rinku and MLA Sheetal Angural’s security protection following their recent move to BJP from Aam Aadmi Party. As per reports, as soon as they joined BJP, 4 commando-pilot cars from Rinku’s security detail have been recalled, while Angural’s security detail has not been removed yet.

As per reports, Rinku had claimed that his life is in danger. He reportedly wrote a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah asking for a heavier security detail. The two announced their move to BJP Friday which was met with severe criticism from the public. They carried out a road show yesterday where AAP workers and people showed their dismay through posters which branded the two leaders as ‘Gaddars’ (traitors).

On Tuesday, BJP Punjab unit chief Sunil Jakhar announced that the saffron party will fight the general Elections 2024 solo in Punjab. AAP has been accusing the BJP of poaching their leaders. Rinku and Sheetal had joined the BJP in the presence of senior BJP leaders on Friday.
