Ind vs Eng: Rohit Sharma hits 7th Test Century, becomes first Indian player to score each of his first seven 100s at home

Rohit Sharma scored a century on the first day of the second Test between India and England. He has also partnered 70+ for the fourth wicket with Ajinkya Rahane. India won the toss and decided to bat first in this Test match being played at Chepauk Stadium, Chennai. Team India has scored 150+ runs losing 3 wickets so far.

This is the 7th century of Rohit's Test career. He completed his century off 130 balls. Rohit has scored a century in the Test after 15 months. He made his last century against South Africa in Ranchi in October 2019. Rohit has made seven centuries in India. This is his first century in Chennai.

With this century, Rohit became the first Indian player to score each of his first seven 100s at home. Before Rohit, the most was Mohammad Azharuddin i.e. six centuries.
