A special campaign against drugs has been initiated by w/DGPPunjab Sh. Dinkar Gupta IPS which is led by Sh. Kaustubh Sharma IPS IGJalandhar Range in the region. Under their able directions, SSP Hoshiarpur Sh.Navjot Singh Mahal PPS initiated a battlefront against drug smuggling inHoshiarpur district. Under this drive, a team led by Sh. Ravinderpal SinghSandhu SP Investigation Hoshiarpur achieved a big success.
The team led by himand constituting Sh. Rakesh Kumar PPs DySP D, Ins Karnail Singh SHO Model Town,Insp Surjit Singh I/C Narcotic Cell, Ins Shiv Kumar I/C CIA, ASI Jasvir Kaurapprehended 3 persons and recovered 1.6 kg Heroin, 580 gm Opium, 560 gm Gold,Rs 50 Lakh approximately Drug money, one swift car PB02 BH 4443 from them.
SSP Hoshiarpur Sh. Navjot Singh Mahal told media personnelthat on 18.05.2021, Insp Karnail Singh had put a special naka at Tanda ChownkHoshiarpur. At the naka, police party stopped a swift car PB02 BH 4443 onsuspicion and asked their whereabouts. The introduced themselves as PushpinderSingh @ Tinku S/o Parshotam Lal R/o House No 432, Naraian Nagar PS CityHoshiarpur and Amit Choudhary S/o Varindersaini R/o MohTegor Nagar At PresentStreet No 04, MohBassiKhawazu Hoshiarpur. ASI Dalvinder Singh checked pocketsof Pushpinder Singh @ Tinku on suspicious grounds and found 45gm heroin ina plastic bag in right pocket of his trouser.
When he searched Amit Chaudhary,he found 25gm heroin and INR 50,000 in right pocket of his trouser. An FIR no.110 dated 18-05-2021 u/s 21, 29, 60-61-85 was registered at PS Model Townagainst both the accused. During interrogation, they told police that they havebrought this heroin from Jasvir Singh Gajju S/o Parkash Singh R/o GreenAvenueNearSaraswati College PS JandialaDistt AmritsarandJagroop Kaur R/o GreenAvenue Near Saraswati College PS JandialaDistt Amritsar who lives with JasvirSingh.
After this, a team led Sh. Rakesh Kumar PPs DySP D constitutingInsKarnail Singh SHO Model Town, Insp Surjit Singh I/C Narcotic Cell, Ins ShivKumar I/C CIA, ASI Jasvir Kaur raided at Green Avenue Near Saraswati College PSJandialaDistt Amritsar where Jasvir Singh lives with Jagroop Kaur. Jasvir Singhabsconded from his house but Jagrup Kaur, who lives with Jasvir Singh and workswith him in smuggling illicit drugs was apprehended by the police party with100gm heroin.
When her house was searched by the police party, 1 kg 480 gmheroin, 580 Gm Opium, 560 gm gold, INR 49,48,700/- drug money was recoveredfrom there. Police parties are conducting rigorous search for the abscondingaccused Jasvir Singh. The entire matter is being investigated thoroughly.
SSP Hoshiarpur Mr. Mahal further told the media that acampaign has been initiated to forfeit and attach the property earned from drugmoney by drug smugglers, the same process will be followed in this case u/s 68FNDPS Act at the earliest. Mr. Mahal also gave a stern message to drug smugglersof the area that police is behind them and no one indulged in such wrongful actagainst society and nation will be spared by the police.
