A 13-year-old girl was raped and murdered by her friend's father in Jalandhar West. Her body was found in neighbour's bathroom in Paras Estate, situated near Leather Complex in Jalandhar West on Saturday night (November 22). She had gone to her neighbour's house to play with her friend. However, her friend was not at home but still Harminder Singh Rimpy invited her inside.
When the 13-year-old girl did not return home, a team of Police was called on the spot. Locals accused that the girl went to Rimpy's house as they traced the CCTV footage of the area. However, the police officials went inside and reportedly remained there for 45 minutes. However, they could not find the body.
Thereafter, Amarjeet along with a few other men and 13-year-old girl's mother forcefully went inside the house of Rimpy and found the girl's body inside the same house.
As a result, a huge controversy broke out. Amid continuous demand to sack ASI Mangat Ram, he was first suspended and then dismissed from services. A few other officials were also suspended.
The postmortem examination in the rape and murder of a 13-year-old girl from Paras Estate in Jalandhar West has confirmed that she was strangled to death.
Doctors found deep ligature marks on her neck, along with nail scratches and friction injuries on her body, pointing to sexual assault and a violent struggle.
Forensic samples including swabs taken during the postmortem and the accused’s blood sample have been sent to the laboratory for DNA matching. Police said the DNA report will play a major role in the case.
Investigators are also searching for the accused’s missing mobile phone, which reportedly went missing during the mob assault on him after the girl’s body was discovered.
Police teams have been deployed to trace the device, which is believed to contain crucial evidence.
Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann has assured the people of Jalandhar, especially the victim's family that the accused will be hanged to death and the trial will be run in a fast-track court so that timely justice can be ensured.
A lavish wedding in Ludhiana with estimated 800-1000 guests turned bizarre a massive firing broke out between two groups. The incident took place on November 29 i.e. Saturday night at Ludhiana's Bath Castle.
Groom Varinder had invited several of his friends at the function. Among those friends, there were two persons, one by the name Shubham Aggarwal and the other by the name Ankur.
Ankur had also arrived with his own friends. For some reason, Shubham and Ankur got into an argument. The argument escalated into verbal abuse, and soon after, it turned into a physical fight. Among the groups accompanying them, there were 3–4 individuals who were carrying weapons. A total of 20-25 rounds were fired.
Two guests who were shot, died in the hospital. Police reached the spot within 20 minutes. Bath Castle was sealed and people were sent to their homes. FIR has been lodged, 6 people have been rounded up. There are 6-7 more people who are seen in the CCTV footage are yet to be rounded up.

On November 29 afternoon, a 30-year-old woman was found dead inside ladies restroom of Chandigarh's famous Rose Garden. Local Police reached the spot after receiving the information. The woman was rushed to hospital where she was declared brought dead.
The woman is said to be 30-years-old and hails from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. As per reports, a knife was found near the body and deep injuries were found on her neck.
Currently, there is mystery around the death of 30-year-old woman whose name is Diksha.
As per reports, Diksha worked with a news channel in the Industrial Area and lived in a PG in Phase 11, Mohali. She had been living separately from her husband for nearly a year. CCTV footage shows her entering the restroom alone. However, the absence of cameras inside the Rose Garden means it is unclear who found her moments later.
Meanwhile, the police are working on both murder and suicide angles. The knife has been sent for fingerprint examination. Her call records are also being analysed. Except for the neck wound, no other injury marks were found on her body.
Diksha’s postmortem was conducted on Sunday by a board of three doctors at Sector 16 Hospital. After the procedure, the body was handed over to her husband to be taken to Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, her hometown.
Her colleagues told police that she had come to work on Saturday but left around 2 pm, saying she was unwell. Instead of going home, she went to the Rose Garden. Police recovered depression medication from her purse, though the reasons behind her mental health struggles remain unclear.
