Gauri is said to have kept a mannat (a promise made to make one's wish come true) for Aryan and has been continually praying throughout the Navratri festival. She has also given up sweets since the beginning of Navratri on October 7. A money order for Rs 4,500 was recently submitted to the Arthur Road jail officials for Aryan's canteen expenses.
